Key Responsibilities
Enhance, develop and implement Ooredoo Group’s international network expansion roadmap, including submarine cables, terrestrial fiber, and PoPs.
Lead feasibility studies, planning, and deployment of new submarine cable projects.
Oversee full lifecycle management of submarine cable investments, including negotiations, Construction & Maintenance Agreements (C&MA), and implementation.
Identify investment opportunities in international network infrastructure.
Ensure network design and architecture align with Ooredoo’s long-term strategic vision.
Consortium & Partner Engagement
Represent Ooredoo Group in global submarine cable consortiums, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy.
Develop strategic partnerships with global carriers, submarine cable operators, CDN, Internet Exchanges, cloud providers, and hyperscalers.
Negotiate and manage cross-border infrastructure partnerships to enhance Ooredoo’s international connectivity.
Collaborate with regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with telecommunications laws and industry standards.
Commercial & Financial Management
Develop business cases for international infrastructure investments, including cost analysis and ROI assessment.
Oversee contract negotiations for submarine cable and capacity investments.
Optimize financial performance through cost-effective sourcing and infrastructure sharing agreements.
Track global market trends, pricing strategies, and competitive positioning for international connectivity.
Operational Execution & Asset Management
Maintain and update records of Ooredoo’s international broadband capacity assets.
Ensure network performance, resilience, and redundancy in international connectivity.
Implement asset lifecycle management strategies to optimize infrastructure utilization.
Develop global capacity restoration plans to mitigate service disruptions.
Key Deliverables
Infrastructure Expansion Roadmap: Execution of strategic network development plans.
Consortium & Investment Leadership: Successful participation in global submarine cable projects.
ROI Optimization: Ensuring financial efficiency in infrastructure investments.
Network Resilience & Performance: Maximized uptime and redundancy for Ooredoo’s international network.
Regulatory & Compliance Adherence: Full alignment with industry and government regulations.
Experience & Qualifications
12+ years of experience in international telecommunications infrastructure development, Subject Matter Expert, Chaired submarine cable consortiums , and global network expansion.
Proven expertise in leading submarine cable investments, designing Sea Cables and negotiating high-value commercial agreements.
Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
Master’s degree (MBA or equivalent) is a plus.
Advanced degrees (Master’s or MBA) would be an advantage.
