Job overview
The Director, Strategic projects is responsible for leading the planning, execution, and governance of the strategy’s most critical cross-functional initiatives
This role ensures that high-impact projects are delivered on time, within scope, and in alignment with the
Group’s strategic and financial objectives. The position combines leadership in corporate development, strategic execution, and stakeholder management across business units, regions, and external partners
The role ensures end-to-end ownership of strategic projects, from origination to execution and value realization, aligning with the Group’s growth, digital transformation, and shareholder objectives.
The role together with the team member reporting to the role holder will oversee a wide range of projects and programs.
One of the initial focus will be the key strategic initiative related to the expansions in scope, and territories of Ooredoo’s push into Data Centers as well AI? GPU as a service.
While Syntys team is responsible for the day-to-day operation of these assets, the role holder will drive the expansion into new territories which is a key part of the strategy
It will also include new strategic projects as approved as part of the updated strategy.
The role holder acts not only as a PMO or project manager but as the project owner, driving the actual content and delivery of the project and providing content expertise in the relevant field.

Provide direct support to the CEO and Board during major transaction and strategic processes.
Drive the portfolio of strategic projects, partnerships JV and transactions related to Data Center, Ai infrastructure and GPU as a service and AI infrastructure including

Experience
Prior experience of transformation and transaction planning and execution within Ooredoo
Experience driving large scale transformation projects
Experience at a Senior Level in a telecom operator in strategy or M&A team at a senior level (CXO or CX-1)
15 / 20 years of experience preferable in the Telco industry (not just technical)
Knowledge and prior experience relating to DC and AI
Experience in managing large scale transformation projects
Experience in managing top management escalations and creating buy-in with stakeholders
Multi disciplinary cross border program management
Finance – business planning, valuation, accounting, tax, budgeting, AOP impact assessment, accounting separation

Qualifications
Bachelor or Master degree – finance or business preferred
