Job overview
This role will be responsible for supporting the strategic planning & performance management, engaging with all key stakeholders (Group and OpCos) and supporting to drive both the design and execution of the strategic engagement processes, doing required research, financial/ competitive & business model analysis and derive from techno-commercial trends implications for the strategic planning & performance management activities.
Strategic Planning
Conducting the strategic planning & performance management team scope of activities (planning frameworks, required analysis, modelling, competitor/financial analysis, techno-commercial and business model perspective)
Support the design of the strategic planning process as part of the annual groupwide planning process
drive, prepare and follow-up on the strategic planning discussions to align & support the group strategic direction agreed by the Ooredoo board
develop and provide as a core input to the annual planning market sizing and forecasts for the relevant footprint markets, support the discussion with OpCo CEOs and CCOs and align with commercial group functions in this context
conduct the competitive tracking for the respective footprint markets together with the Opcos and leverage state of the art methods to track
provide the strategic planning insights as input to the strategic dialogue with the group management committee and the Ooredoo board
provide strategic input and feedback on the OpCo performance management meetings and follow-through
participate in the group strategy leadership team (SLT) where required with the OpCo strategy heads, draft respective agendas to support strategic alignment
support the execution of the Group Leadership team meetings (GLT) that are chaired by the GCSO with regards to agenda setting, moderation and execution
Performance Management
apply appropriate performance management tools to ensure Top Management is aligned with company objectives.
Track the scorecards of all C-Levels in the Group inclusive GCEO, DGCEO and RCEO as well as the OpCo/CEO scorecards inclusive of supporting the target setting process with MD, DGCEO, RCEO and group functions
Prepare respective proposals for board committees proposals for the scorecards and scorecard achievement
Assess the scorecard achievements by top management as input to RNC discussions by the head of strategic planning & performance management.
Assess CXO scorecard proposals of Opcos (as provided to their boards) to comply with group requirements
Strategic Projects
If bandwidth provides, to develop for strategic themes such as fiber a strategic viewpoint and coordinate if needed the work of external consultants

Experience
15+ years’ experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified of which minimum of 3-4 years in a leading strategy consulting firm and minimum of 4 years in the telecom industry
Strong modelling & financial analysis skills
Strong techno-commercial understanding
Strong competitive & market understanding of our telecom markets
Superb ability to synthesize strategic themes, and present strategic rationale & analysis in compelling presentations
Pragmatic and flexible work approach and ability to perform in a fast paced environment
Previous experience in two or more work environments
Experience working in a group’s strategy or planning unit is a plus – within a telecom group a strong plus
Ability to engage with senior business leaders
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to collect data, establish facts, and structure valid conclusions
Experience in international/ emerging markets
Experience with strategy or planning development
Strong PowerPoint presentation and Excel modeling skills
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
MBA (CFA or equivalent Master’s degree) required
