Job overview
Provide Group-level expertise in Technology Planning and Performance Management across the OpCos
The role holder maintains close contact with Technology Directors at the operating companies and works closely with other members of the technology teams to enable capital efficient network plans.
Your impact on our goals
Supports definition of Group-wide technology evolution strategy, aligned with overall Group strategy
Supports the review of operating company strategic plans and budgets for Technologies and assess them for alignment to the overall group strategic plan and aims, identifying any misalignment or gaps and working with the OpCo’s to achieve alignment.
Closely collaborates with other members of the technology team to drive overall vision, strategy, technology road maps, world-class network architectures, and enable capital efficient network plans.
Supports the review of OpCo projects and orders ensuring alignment with Group price books, practices, architectures and roadmaps
Supports the establishment of Group-wide guidelines, standards, and KPIs to support Technology solutions and platform performance, capacity monitoring and dimensioning.
Monitor SLAs and KPIs for all OpCos
Supports the liaison with Group Strategy to review OpCo business and technology plans and align on relevant performance targets and KPIs
Supports Group Planning & Performance Management in performance reviews and proposing corrective measures
Participate in the development, analysis and review of technical/cost modelling for business cases/TCO, RFI/RFQ specifications and evaluations and technical/commercial trials of relevant technologies.
Input into the development of Group-level Technology roadmaps and architecture best practices
Supports the Competency Centres under the Technology Leadership Team (TLT) direction.
Experience
12 years’ experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
Previously held any of the following positions or similar as a team leader or head at a major telecommunications operating company, in:
NW and/or IT Planning,
NW and/or IT Performance,
Technology Investments & Demand.
International experience
Experience in Ooredoo Group OPCOs is a plus.
In-depth working knowledge of RAN, Tx, Core Networks and/or IT and Service Delivery is mandatory
Extensive hands-on experience in the planning, design and implementation and operation of Technology Systems in mobile and/or fixed networks
Extensive hands-on experience in the planning, design and implementation and operation of NW and/or IT Performance Systems in mobile and/or fixed networks
Vast knowledge of key mobile and/or fixed telecom NW & IT systems, platforms, and technologies, including hardware and software components
Strong knowledge of Telecom infrastructure technologies and end-to-end planning practices, implementation methods and cost optimization strategies, with a specialty in NW domains (RAN, Tx, CORE) and/or IT domains (BSS, OSS, Digital Channels)
Knowledge and experience in systems integration techniques, system engineering, systems management,
Current working experience with NW Technology products (Planning and Performance) from group frame vendors very desirable.
Proven ability to translate marketing needs into engineering targets, ability to guide marketing through that process, and contribute to strategy formulation
Proven experience with Agentic AI for automatic report generation, analysis and automation of processes is a plus
Qualifications
Engineering Degree or equivalent.
Industry training in RAN, Tx, core network platform technologies preferred
International experience, preferably in the MENA or Asia regions.
