Roles Summary
Responsible for the operation, monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Core Network and Value-Added Services (VAS) platforms to ensure high availability and service quality. The role includes managing telecom signaling and routing configurations, USSD services, roaming and interconnect integrations, KPI monitoring, incident handling, system testing, and coordination with vendors and internal teams. Requires knowledge of telecom networks (2G/3G/4G/5G), VoIP/VoLTE, Unix systems, databases, and basic programming, along with strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
Duties & Responsibilities
Perform daily operations related to core and value-added services (VAS) systems.
Health check operations for all Core/VAS applications and monitor all interfaces between Core/VAS applications and other network elements.
Perform needed changes on Core/VAS applications related to routing, signaling, USSD codes, and other changes.
Configure and administer USSD based applications and USSG GW configurations platforms and USSD Gateways.
Perform and troubleshoot all operations and problems related to roaming partners and IREG testing including the common tests.
Implement interconnect integration with other operators, networks, and international gateways through ISUP, PRA, SIP, SIP-I and any other supported protocols.
Perform planned and unplanned activities (incidents).
Communication with Core/VAS vendors to follow up all issues, either those are a problem, planned customization, or upgrades related to applications.
Maintaining the network KPI's related to Core/VAS applications and preparing required statistical reports.
Perform the acceptance testing related to any operation made on core and VAS applications.
Follow-up and perform integrations needed between Core/VAS applications with other network elements.
Prepare the required documentation for any operation made in Core/VAS applications and update them accordingly.
Handle end user complaints on Core/VAS applications related services within agreed SLA.
Work closely with other departments and business owners to deliver the needed services that can be built and delivered through Core/VAS applications.
Reporting on all O&M activities related to Core/VAS duties to the department leaders and senior leaders.
Work Experience & Qualifications:
At least 1 year of experience in a similar or related role; fresh graduates are also encouraged to apply.
Bachelor’s degree in Telecom/computer engineering or equivalent.
Knowledge in 2G/3G/4G/5G networks, SS7 signalling, traffic flows, and VAS services and platforms.
Good understanding of data structure, algorithms, and managed objects.
Good understanding of databases such as Oracle and MySQL.
Good knowledge in VoIP and VoLTE.
Hands-on experience in application development using programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, and PHP.
Excellent experience in Unix.
Excellent experience in MS-Office and Windows applications.
Skills:
Ability to handle emergency tasks under work pressure.
Excellent communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills.
Proficiency with MS Office suit (mainly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
Organization commitment and time flexibility.
Strong analytical skills.
Fluent in written and spoken English.
