Roles Summary

The Transmission Operations engineer will be responsible for implementation, operation, and Integration for Optical Transmission Networks/metro & IP/MPLS access Networks with Core IP Network.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Performing all the required Installation, configuration, operation and maintenance activities for Transmission Optical Network, Metro & IP/MPLS networks.

• Optical Nodes installation, commissioning and testing as per plan and standards.

• Daily operations & maintenance, health check, error check, performance monitoring of transmission links.

• Implementing IGP, BGP & MPLS on IP RAN Mobile Network (Access & Aggregation)

• Scheduling preventive maintenance for Transmission network elements and monitor the quality of links/services.

• Co-ordinating with the Contractors/Suppliers/Vendors/Carriers and service providers for delivering service.

• Perform testing via Optical & Ethernet measuring tools (OTDR,OPM,OLS,VFL).

• Analyzing and classifying Faults.

• monitor links and nodes performance according to KPIs.

• Respond Immediately to Transmission Network incidents/on-call 24/7/365.

Work Experience & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in telecommunication/Network engineering.

• 2-3 years experience within the same field or telecom industry. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.

• Strong knowledge of transmission standards and technologies ( SDH,DWDM, Metro Ethernet, MPLS, IP/MPLS, FTTH, Fiber optics).

• Hands on experience of Cisco switches and routers (preferred).

• Knowledge in 2G/3G/4G telecom Network’s infrastructures.

• Strong knowledge of switching and routing protocols.

• Must have a CCNA or Network certifications (CCNP is plus)

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Able to work independently and in a team.

• Proficiency in Arabic and English (oral and written).

• Valid driving license.
