Job Purpose

 

The overall responsibility of the product management group is to integrate the various segments of a business into a strategically focused whole, maximizing the value of our products by coordinating the production of an offering with an understanding of market needs.

Role Accountabilities

The role-holder will be responsible for:

 

  • Driving the market planning and strategic direction for product development/enhancements for Qtel's consumer Mobile Broadband and mobile Internet service portfolio.
  • Define and improve the end-to-end customer experience for mobile broadband/Internet services from both the service and the terminal point of view. This includes providing and reviewing content for flyers, brochures, user guides, terminal manuals, etc
  • Design and review marketing collateral documents required to gain approval from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Analyzing market potential of new products and technologies with respect to overall strategic development of mobile broadband/Internet.
  • Defining the strategy for Qtel's positioning regarding Device app stores and their applicability to the Qatari marketplace.
  • Executing that strategy.
  • Driving and cooperating with other departments to support Qtel's Mobile data strategy especially in areas of driving mobile data usage.
  • Conducting regular market research and consistent regional benchmark studies on broadband services.
  • Working with Qtel's engineering & IT department to plan and implement enhancements to existing and new mobile broadband/Internet services.
  • Track service performance and usage against forecast in terms of market penetration, revenues, active users and churn and propose corrective initiatives if required.
  • Project Manage the production of training documentation / information packs to all customer touch points (Sales, Retail, Customer Service, etc), third party channels and carry out training workshops to ensure that sales and support staff are adequately trained.
  • Participate in marketing communication and event planning for new services

 

Experience & Qualification

 

The candidate must be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of wireless technologies, mobile industry trends and the process involved in the design, implementation, maintenance and support of Mobile Internet applications.

 

 

Graduate degree

 

At least 3 years of work experience of which a minimum of 1 year should have been within a comparable telecom company.

 

Excellent written and spoken English.  Arabic an advantage.
